IFP rules except all pickleball paddles allowed?

Be careful when attending Pickleball tournaments this summer as some tournaments announce they are using IFP rules (which is good) but then also add the extra that all paddles are accepted (which is bad), meaning that the dreaded and dangerous Apikes & Hush paddles are allowed. This goes against IFP rules, but then again the tournament director can make the call. I will say again that those paddles are overly powerfully when they hit a ball. Many good players are beaned by balls returned from the paddles, and there is such a disadvantage by those paddles. Which is why they are not legal for tournaments in USA or Canada! Many players, myself included stated that they would not return to this tournament next year if those paddles were allowed to return. The key proponents for these paddles argued that wood paddles were more dangerous than their controversial paddles. I have seen first hand the dangers of these paddles. Originally these paddles were designed for the age 70 and 80 year old rec pickleball player that needed something that was less stressful on their body. But take that paddle and put into a young and strong player, and you give them a howitzer. It's not an innovative tool for technique, but instead a weapon. The proponents will tell you that if you play against their paddle it gives you good practice for ducking and jumping out of the way of the non-scary plastic ball. The game of pickleball is not about hitting the hardest possible, and I don't want to be dodging balls, but instead playing a competitive game using my brain muscle to get the ball past my opponents.
